Senior Designer NYC

R\West is looking for a dynamic creative team member to join our advertising agency team as a Senior Designer. The ideal candidate has experience in digital and print, and will be working with our creative and integrated teams to ensure creative excellence and smooth delivery.

So what would I REALLY be doing?
What would I be responsible for?
As a Senior Designer, you will operate as the day to day design lead for a suite of accounts. You will collaborate with creative directors and the creative team to concept and generate campaigns and brand activations. You will take a lead role in taking the approved concept through execution.
What should I bring coming in?
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Job experience will be considered.
- Minimum 4-6 years design experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple ongoing projects at any given time
- Strong creative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong knowledge of file types and delivery
- A strong team player, responsible, dependable with strong communication skills.
- Self-starter with creative curiosity
- Ideally has print, digital design/UX chops, and skills in After Effects
And What would I be doing every day?
Creative Concepting:
- Collaborating with creative directors and account leads
- Coming up with creative ways to interpret a brief which are on brand and strategic
- Finding ways to express the thinking in words and visuals
Design execution:
- Creating the assets needed for a campaign. This may include a variety of channels, media and skill sets in addition to traditional graphic design depending on client needs and individual strengths such as on set direction, animation, 3D, illustration and UX.
- Working with the team to ensure elements are on time, on budget and error free.
- Producing or supervising the production of files that are ready for hand off to digital teams, media or print vendors.
Deck Building and presentation:
- Ability to build client presentation decks
- Able to tie design choices back to strategic objectives and articulate that through copy
- Can present thinking to clients alongside creative director
Miscellaneous Duties:
- File organization
- Proactive thinking about clients and projects
- Collaborate with the creative team
- Collaborate with other departments such as digital and social media
Who would I work with?
In this position, you would report to a Creative Director and work closely with writers, brand managers and social media managers.
This position does not currently manage other team members.

This position offers the flexibility of working from home on some days and being physically present at the NYC office for others. On remote days, team members will be expected to work out of their home office and be available to collaborate and support colleagues. Because this position requires hands-on in-office responsibilities and paperwork, 2-3 days per week in office is required.

Assistant Brand Manager – NYC
About this Role:
At R\West, we call our Account Executives “Brand Managers.” They understand a successful “brand” goes far beyond marketing and advertising. From people to production lines, our brand managers look at a brand holistically. They listen, inside and outside the company to gain the insight needed to get results, while having our clients’ best interests in mind. It’s the foundation to building great client relationships at R/West and how we earn the trust and respect to keep those relationships strong.
Responsibilities:
You’ll be pivotal in bringing our client’s branding and positioning to life through account and project management. You’ll support brand strategy dialogue across the agency, working closely with all departments including the digital experience team, public relations team, creative team, media team, and critical external partners. You’ll then support execution, working with internal team members and creative resources to deliver the highest-quality work across all mediums, managing timelines and budgets. You’ll provide assistance for tracking the impact and learning’s of these activities and bringing your insights back to the client’s core brand strategies.
- Day-to-day project manager for each of your client teams
- Work with account lead (Sr. Brand Manager) to understand and execute against inter-discipline agency teams
- Organize and participate in client meetings, including creating agendas and circulating notes as needed
- Coordinate integrated account teams through our project management tool/system, ensuring best-in-class work delivery
- Set account milestones and deadlines as needed
- Ensure client briefs are clearly understood and that teams have all necessary materials to execute resulting work
- Contribute to the development of a Client’s short- and long-term strategic plans
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years account experience in a creative advertising agency, Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Proven ability to work as part of a project team to bring creative ideas to execution, and deliver concepts to consumers
- Excellent verbal and written communications, including meeting facilitation and presentations
- Strong ability to quickly integrate into a team
- Extremely detail oriented and organized, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- High integrity and strong work ethic
- Excellent time management skills – the ability to determine where to prioritize time based on client needs of the moment
- Be a proactive thinker, comfortable with taking significant initiative in an autonomous atmosphere
- Ability to gain trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations
- Burgeoning ability to analyze brand landscapes, consumers and trends, and derive innovative approaches and plans
- Familiarity with Google/G-Suite & Microsoft Office tools
